Course program
Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR) 2006 states that 'Those persons who are liable to be exposed to asbestos whilst carrying out their normal everyday work should undergo Asbestos Awareness Training'.
Our half day Asbestos Awareness Training course is designed for those who need an understanding of asbestos and its potential risks.
Delegates who are responsible for the repair and maintenance of commercial property will be able to identify and deal with asbestos, and meet their legal 'duty to manage'. Exemption from this requirement for training, only applies when it can be demonstrated that the working environment is free from all asbestos-containing materials (ACMs).
Those people at risk include; general maintenance staff, plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters etc., caretakers, roofers and scaffolders, shop fitters, telecom engineers, computer engineers, building surveyors, fire and burglar alarm installers, construction workers, heating and ventilation engineers.
It is estimated that over two million work places contain asbestos, which remains the single biggest cause of work related deaths in the UK.
