Although women score highly in all senior management competences, multiple research studies have shown that they appear to fall short on the ‘vision thing’: they spend less time considering the future of their industry and company; they also tend to make strategy a priority much later in their career than men.
In order for women to be successful in a corporate environment, they need to ‘own’ the strategic issue much earlier and make it part of their weekly concerns. They also need to be seen to draw the Big Picture as they move from emerging to confirmed talent in their organisation.
