Certificate – Bird behaviour (level 1)
This course is designed with the aim of bringing an awareness and a primary understanding of a selection of birds and their behaviour to the student. It will introduce some of the more recognisable garden birds as well as some less well known species. Anyone wanting to work with birds in a private or public collection would find this course very useful.
Course modules
1. Characteristics, feeding and communication. The student will be introduced to the subject of how a

bird’s physical characteristics indicate how it lives, feeds and flies. Also communication and the senses will be covered.
2. Social behaviour. Cooperation, raising young and surviving extremes are just some of the topics covered in this module.
