European Centre of Chinese Studies

The European Centre of Chinese Studies (ECCS)  was started in 2004 in London by Valli Lai. It is a subsidiary of the hugely successful Australasian Centre of Chinese Studies set up in Melbourne, Australia, 18 years ago.  Dr Moni Lai Storz brought the learning of the Chinese language, Mandarin, to the Australian community using the revolutionary techniques of Accelerated Learning. Together with a scholar from China, Mr Jian-Guo Luo, Moni developed a series of 'Chinese using Accelerated Learning Techniques' (CUALT) modules. Using this holistic, fun and dynamic learning methodology to learning Chinese, we've had several thousand students have study with us over the past few years. Scores of businesses such as Telstra, ANZ Bank, Crown Casino, Cadbury Schweppes have had their executives trained with us for Chinese Mandarin and cross-cultural management and communications.

Our classes are conveniently located in Holborn and very well-priced. They are small classes, the average class size is only 8 to 10 students!

We have a complete curriculum to study Mandarin ranging from absolute beginner to advanced conversation levels including Chinese for Business. A total of 15 levels! Great networking opportunities for social or business purposes.

Most of all, our Chinese classes are fun and interesting - we do not have tests and we do not teach from standard boring textbooks!

We also offer bespoke short courses in Chinese language and culture for business travellers and tourists, as well as customised corporate and private tuition and is a division of Global Business Strategies, a leading cross-cultural management training company specialising in Asia Pacific business cultures and languages.
