Course program
Up until Final Cut Pro X, all digital editing packages were based on analogies relating to film editing. As the imaging technology moves away from film and tape-based formats for shooting, Final Cut Pro X introduces a new way of editing that does away with the traditional model for video editing software altogether. This course aims to introduce you to this radically different way of editing and takes into account your existing thought processes/workflows (from other editing software ie Final Cut Studio or iMovie) in moving to FCP X.
Please note: Because of the position Apple has taken with the release of this software. Final Cut Pro X does not currently allow for collaboration between other professional post-production tools or previous versions of Final Cut Pro. Whilst this may be rectified in future updates, students should be made aware that this software is primarily for producing content for web distribution and basic DVD and Blu Ray production.
Upon completing this course, you will:
• Understand how to take an editing project from raw footage through to online videoclip, DVD or Blu Ray using all the tools that Final Cut Pro X offers to make this a speedy and exciting process.
Our courses run many times per year.

Film and Video Workshop
The Film and Video Workshop is an educational charity founded fourteen years ago. The organisation's objective is the education of adults, children and young people in the art of film, video and other types of media. We aim to work particularly with those people who are in need by reason of disability, age or economic circumstance.
The company has grown steadily since its formation and is now the largest producer of child and young people directed moving image work in the United Kingdom. Many of the animations we have helped produce have been shown worldwide in international film festivals and some have won prestigious awards. Each year we work with approximately 1000 film makers and produce 150 pieces of moving image work. Past clients include the BFI, BBC, Film Council, Southbank Centre, British Museum and the Hackney Empire. Recent premiere screenings have been held at the London Imax Cinema and the Odeon West End.
In addition we are a UK On-Line Centre and provide adult training, specialising in the creative use of digital technology. The current courses selection includes four video production courses, digital photography, image manipulation, special effects, animation and open access sessions. The media centre is open 6 days a week with over 80 weekly users.
