Course program

Our first aid instructor training provides organisations with an effective method of teaching their own first aiders in-house, and individuals with a potentially new and fulfilling career. We often recruit first aid instructors from among those we’ve trained ourselves.

The first aid instructor course covers the CIEH Level 3 Award in Preparing to teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) syllabus. It also includes advice and guidance on first aid training and the law, how to assess delegates, best practice teaching methods, and starting your own business. The first aid instructor course also covers AED and paediatric first aid as well as HSE first aid at work courses. Ongoing telephone and email support is provided, together with legal updates, monitoring visits and access to our database of other trainers and assessors.

First aid instructor training includes:

* First aid training and the law
* Best teaching practice
* How to assess delegates’ abilities and attitudes
* Course folder with teaching plans, course paperwork and useful websites
* Copies of PowerPoint presentations
* First Aid Instructor and Assessor Certificate
