FOUNDATION MAKE-UP STYLING
2 DAYS 0R 2 EVENINGS OVER 3 WEEKS

The Foundation Make-Up Styling Course is for students who want to learn the fundamentals of make-up application for either personal or professional use. This course is suitable for beginners and those interested in Make-up for Film, TV, fashion and Photography. This is an intensive course specifically intended to give broad training in basic make-up application. Students will be taught in small groups of 4 – 6 to allow enough focus and attention to be given to each student thereby strengthening their ability and skill.
Once you have completed this course you will be equipped with the knowledge and ability to provide a variation of makeup services from short films, Bridal, personal clients to assisting Pro Makeup artist on various assignments and working with well known Makeup brands.
The Course includes: Use of all materials and make up for the duration of your course within the Academy and a NOTIS London Academy of Makeup & Image Styling certificate of achievement.

Week 1
INTRODUCTION
History of Make-Up
Hygiene and equipment
Tools of the trade i.e. brush kits/Make-up kits
Types of foundation and concealers
Preparing the face
Skin type analysis- Cleanse, tone and moisturise
Demonstration.
PRACTISE ON EACH OTHER.
Understanding skin tones
Application of foundations, powders and concealers
Difference between Nude and Natural make up.
Contouring and highlighting to create a finished look
Demonstration
PRACTISE ON EACH OTHER - evaluate the standard and level of the class.
Week 2
PERIOD MAKE-UP:
20 to 50’s A TRANSITION - 60's to 80's COLOUR & CREATIVITY
Eyebrow shaping
Liquid/Kohl/Gel eyeliners
eyelash curling
False Lashes
Mascara
Lip liners and Lipsticks
varying lip shapes
Blusher and bronzer application
Face jewellery where applicable
Week 3
BEAUTY MEETS GLAMOUR – CHARACTER SFX MINOR CUTS & BRUISING:
Natural and Outdoor Look
Smokey Eyes
Hollywood Makeup – OSCAR GLITZ & GLAM.
Aging Techniques
Illness, pale and sickly
Cuts & Bruising
Questions & answers,
Advice on stepping out as a makeup artist.
Handing out of CERTIFICATES.
