INTRODUCTION:
This course will offer the learner a good introduction to creative media production, by focusing on giving them the opportunity to gain both the theoretical knowledge, as well as gaining a greater understanding of professional production associated with the film and television industries.
The course will give learners the opportunity to learn how to use camera, lighting, sound and editing equipment. The learner will also gain an in depth understanding of how the media industry is structured, and learn how they can develop a career in this challenging, exciting, dynamic industry.

Offers the learners the opportunity to gain a basic understanding of relevant production skills related to media industries.
Provides the learner the opportunity to progress their career onto a media production HND, once they have completed the HNC course. In addition they may also upgrade their qualification to a degree course one they have completed the HND.
A challenging and varied range of both theoretical and practical units as part of the structure of the course, combined with an extensive range of teaching and learning methods that enhance the learners self confidence.
An opportunity to gain extensive practical skills through using professional industry equipment.
Assists the learner in developing an exciting and challenging career as part of the media industry.
TEACHING METHODS:
Teaching consists of 16 hours per week (30 weeks per year) with an additional hour for tutorial. A combination of theoretical lectures, teaching sessions, and hands on practical experience along with small group work combined with individual course work.
ASSESSMENT:
A flexible approach to suit learners with a range of learning needs. Practical production work, theoretical written work, classroom discussion, group work, individual research, podcasts, video blogs ,investigations and research.
QUALIFICATION GAINED:
Edexcel BTEC Level 4 HNC in Creative Media Production.
