Course program

This is a practical one-day workshop revealing the secrets to making a high-quality micro-budget documentary that makes real money.

Taught by award-winning filmmakers whose last micro-budget documentary sold around the world making many times its budget. This workshop is highly practical on how to produce direct, shoot, edit, market and distribute your film for a profit!

There’s an exciting revolution happening with documentary film-making right now. You no longer have to waste years sending out endless documentary outlines to funding bodies and broadcasters trying to get your ideas commissioned and funded.

Brighton Film Workshops

Now you can get out there and make your own high-quality documentary yourself for no money. I mean really for no money at all. And what’s more, you can sell the finished film at a profit. And if you do it right, you can make a big profit – enough to live on and pay for your next film!

This crash-course micro-documentary bootcamp teaches you the INSIDER SECRETS of making a high-quality no-cost documentary yourself – so you can produce, direct, shoot, edit and even distribute your film yourself for a profit!

This practical workshop is a whistle-stop introduction to the world of micro-documentaries. It covers everything from coming up with a concept, researching, scripting, directing, the practical techniques for operating camera & sound for self-shooting plus the basics of editing documentaries.

And what’s more, the workshop teaches you the marketing skills you need to build your film’s fan-base and presents a work-able distribution model including film festival strategy- so you can sell your film for a profit!

This isn’t about just whacking a film together quickly to make money (although you can do that if you choose). This workshop is about giving you an introduction, inspiration and some practical skills you need to make the highest quality documentary on a subject that you really care about – so your film gets shot, edited, finished, marketed, sold and distributed and that people see your work. And even better, done right, you could make money from selling your film to enable you to make the next one. We would love to turn everyone on this workshop into a sustainable independent film-maker!

We know it works. The workshop leaders’ last self-made documentary had a budget of £500 and it’s made back 60 TIMES ITS ORIGINAL BUDGET (I’ll let you do the maths!). This year, the workshop leaders are making 3 new documentaries using this exact same model with the same projected profit margins. And you can do the same. This workshop lets you into the secrets.

The workshop is run by award-winning documentary film-makers and industry professionals Toni Harman & Alex Wakeford both with nearly twenty years of film-making experience. They have made a feature film distributed by a Hollywood Studio, documentaries broadcast on television and distributed worldwide, short films that have won awards and been screened at top tier international film festivals – and now are running their own micro-budget documentary studio!

If you want to make money from making your own documentaries, can you afford to miss out?
