Course program

The syllabus includes the following subjects:

* Current Theories & Concepts Techniques
* Philosophy Of Complementary Medicine
* Holistic Approach; Zone Therapy; Zones of the Body
* Case History Taking Contra-Indications
* Reactions to Treatments; Chart Interpretation
* Structure, Disorders & Conditions of the Feet
* Reading the Feet;: Hand Reflexology
* Preparation of work area; Patient care; Patient consultation
* Principals & Order of Treatments
* Interpretation of Foot Conditions & Reflexes
* Treatment Assessment & Recording; Listening Skills
* Patient /Therapist Relationship
* Integral Biology; Disorders & Reflexes
* Supervised Clinical Practice


The course is primarily practical in content and you will be required to have access to a Massage Couch or Reflexology Chair, accessories and appropriate workwear (white polo shirt, navy trousers and black shoes) during the course. If you are proposing to enrol on this reflexology course, please be aware that there are some additional costs involved for the purchase of necessary accessories. The required course text book recommended by ITEC is: ‘An Introductory Guide to Reflexology’ – Louise Tucker. Student insurance is mandatory for this course and is available through the IPTI or CThA or APNT. Full details will be sent to you with your joining details.

Attendees are trained to become proficient in Reflexology and are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to set up in practice following qualification.

The course comprises 12 days (72 hours) in-house training plus tutorials, supervised Reflexology practice, student testing and home study which includes 60 detailed case studies to be submitted to ITEC.

Upon satisfactory completion of a mock examinations, students will be eligible to sit the ITEC Diploma in Reflexology Level 3 examination which comprises of course work and a practical examination. The practical examinations will take place Monday - Friday and not at weekends.

The INTERNATIONAL THERAPY EXAMINATION COUNCIL (I.T.E.C) is an awarding body offering vocational qualifications in Complementary Therapy and Bodywork. ITEC is recognized and regulated by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA), and the Department of Education and Employment. ITEC is an independent examining body that offers impartiality and objectivity in its examinations. ITEC is recognised by insurance companies for professional liability insurance.
ITEC qualifications are recognised nationally and internationally - UK, Ireland, Australia, Greece, South East Asia but to name a few.

Successful completion of this diploma course will provide you with the title of "Reflexologist", and the knowledge and techniques needed to give a treatment. Practitioner insurance is also available upon successful completion of the course.


PLEASE NOTE:- New Therapists – If you don’t already hold a recognised therapy qualification you will also need to complete the assignments for the ITEC Business Modules in order to take your Reflexology Exam. For further details see ITEC Business Modules)
