| Geared towards: | It is essential that employees are aware of the hazards and controls associated with the spread of infection in their workplace. This is important not only for protecting themselves from infection but also to reduce the risks to those around them. One of the most high risk environments is healthcare where every year, a significant number of people are made ill and die as a result of healthcare associated infections. Health care providers have a legal and moral obligation to ensure they are not contributing to these statistics. The most effective way of ensuring that employees are aware of how to control the spread of infection is for them to receive appropriate training in infection control. Candidates who achieve the HABC Level 2 National Award in Infection Control will help organisations to comply with this requirement. |
