| Prepares for: | People who work in different care sectors such as working with children, vulnerable adults or the elderly. However a more general course can be delivered for other clients who perhaps handle a lot of Moving and Handling in their day to day jobs. |
| Geared towards: | People who work in the Care Sector looking for an efficient way to complete their Mandatory Training but also those who may deal with Moving and Hanlding on a regular basis as this course can be changed for a more general basis. |
| Requirements: | The full day must be completed before certificate of completition will be released. It is our recommendation that this course is updated on a yearly basis as there are always new developments to this course. However, these are only are recommendations, this course can be updated as you wish accordingly. |

Course program
This course is delivered every Monday at Mercia College from 10:00am until 4:00pm and booking is required.
The areas covered by this training:
- The legal aspects of Moving and Positioning
- The body & what can go wrong when moving and lifting
- Principles of safe Moving & Positioning
- In house policy & assesment
- Communication when using these techniques
Practical sessions covering the following:
- Log roll
- Correct use of slide sheet
- Movement in the bed
- Transfers to and from the bed
- Correct use of transfer belt & transfer board
- Seat and floor turntable
- Client/patient communication
Please note: This course can be delivered at the clients venue for a maximum of 15 members of staff costing only £300 (plus VAT)
