The NEBOSH National Certificate in Environmental Management is designed to provide a sound foundation in environmental management knowledge and practice.
The NEBOSH National Certificate in Environmental Management is designed for managers, supervisors and employees based in the UK, who have responsibility for managing environment issues as a part of their day-to-day work.
The NEBOSH National Certificate in Environmental Management focuses on UK environmental laws and International management systems, such as ISO 14001.
The NEBOSH National Certificate in Environmental Management syllabus covers the practical issues of managing environmental risk, taking a risk management approach based on best practices and international standards, including:
Environmental Management Systems and Impact Assessments
Sources and use of energy and energy efficiency
Control of pollution
Planning for and dealing with environmental emergencies
Entry criteria
No previous environmental knowledge is required to undertake the NEBOSH National Certificate in Environmental Management but students must be able to write short reports.
Units and elements of competence
NEBOSH does not consider that it is appropriate to divide the NEBOSH National Certificate in Environmental Management into elements of competence which could be of value individually in a work situation.

3 Environmental impact assessments
4 Control of emissions to air
5 Control of contamination of water sources
6 Control of waste and land use

Woodward Safety Health and Environment Ltd
Woodward Safety, Health and Environment Ltd. delivers health and safety training, fire safety, construction safety and also environmental management training. Consultancy and auditing are also undertaken.
The results in all our courses are excellent, particularly the difficult NEBOSH courses where our pass rates are very high. This reputation and quality has resulted in many delegates completing three or four courses with us. For many, their whole health and safety career starting with IOSH Managing Safely has been completed with a successful NEBOSH National Diploma.
Woodward Group has been delivering training for the past 20 years and has grown into one of the largest NEBOSH and IOSH centres in the UK. Woodward Group also has about 18 years experience and expertise in training armed forces personnel. We do very little advertising, and have been referred to as one of Cumbria’s most successful best kept secrets. The majority of our delegates either find out about us through a referral or are with us for a 2nd, 3rd or in some cases 4th training course.
The main reason for this continued growth is our attention to customers - we realise that they are very important people, and central to our success as a business. We do however make delegates work hard on our courses, hence the high pass rates. But we also look after you whilst you are with us.
