Orchards Cookery specialises in training and recruiting Chalet Cooks and also runs Off to University courses, Designer Dinner courses, Corporate Days and One and Two Day cookery courses.
Orchards Cookery is family run and is situated on a farm in the heart of England near Stratford-upon-Avon and offers unique and exciting residential cookery courses.
The courses are ‘hands on’ and lots of fun, each day concluding with a dinner party. The social and relaxed environment in the kitchens together with the small class sizes (8 students per kitchen with the fun of up to 24 students staying at the school as the school has three kitchens), enables us to get the best out of every student.
Courses.
Chalet Cook Courses – Five Day & Two Week intensive courses. Specifically for ski season Chalet Cooks, the course will boost your confidence, develop culinary skills to give you the ability to create masterpieces in the kitchen. You will also learn the skills and secrets of running a successful chalet from experienced staff. The school also helps students with recruitment finding jobs working in ski chalets. Orchards Cookery is well known and has a great reputation for training Chalet Cooks.
Off to University – Five Days. Designed for school leavers and under graduates who are about to move away from home and cook for themselves for the first time. The course is intensive and each fun packed day concludes with a dinner party.
Designer Dinners – Five Days. Will boost your confidence and develop your culinary skills and knowledge of cooking, giving you the ability and inspiration to create masterpieces in your own kitchen for family and friends.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award, Residential Project - The above courses (Five Day and Two Week) all meet the requirements for the Residential Project for the Duke of Edinburgh’s awards scheme.
Corporate Days – One Day or Two Day. Whether for team building, or just a fun day out to reward staff for their hard work, Corporate Cooking Days are a brilliant way to get staff, or clients, to mix with each other and work in teams while having lots of fun at the same time.
One Day & Two Day Courses – The emphasis is on Dinner Parties with no stress; delicious , quick and easy recipes using fresh , home grown (wherever possible) to make impressive dishes that are truly scrumptious!
Hen Parties - One or Two days – Similar to the One Day & Two Day courses above, the emphasis is on Dinner Parties with no stress; delicious , quick and easy recipes to make impressive dishes that are truly scrumptious, whilst relaxing and having lots of fun!
Accommodation:
The Orchards is a Beautiful Georgian style family farm house with large gardens that has been in the Bomford Family for five generations. Students staying at the School live in three adjoining cottages and are able to enjoy all the home comforts and family atmosphere during their stay.
Students have use of their own sitting room in a converted barn, The Swallows Nest with lots of sofas, a television and DVD player and computer. Wi Fi is available for those keeping in touch with with the outside world on their own devices). For the musicians amount our students there is an upright piano in one of the cottages as well as classical and folk guitars.
