Course program
Course Description:
As a CITB Construction Skills course, SMSTS is the most recognisable award for showing competence in site management health and safety. It is designed for those who are about to acquire or who already have site management responsibilities.
The SMSTS certificate is valid for five years and as you approach this limit you must take this refresher SMSTS course which lasts for a further 5 years.
Our approved and experienced trainers teach attendees about the current management safety legislation and how to effectively implement it in order to reduce the number of injuries and deaths on construction sites in the UK.
At the end of this short 2-day refresher course attendees take a short test and upon successful completion of this test and the exercises throughout the 2 days they will be re-awarded with a CITB approved SMSTS certificate.
Refresher Course Outline:
1. Implementation of all health, safety, welfare and environment legislation affecting the building, construction and civil engineering industries.
2. How best to implement guidance and industry best practice to site staff.
3. Learn your duties and responsibilities with regard to health, safety, welfare and the environment.
4. The importance of risk assessments and how and when to use them.
