| Prepares for: | Anybody who is considering the role of becoming an NVQ Assessor, or anybody that is assessing candidates work in a college based environment. |
| Geared towards: | The course is geared towards trainers, teachers, NVQ assessors in both publically funded and private colleges or training centres. |
| Requirements: | 1. You must be 19 years or older. 2. You need to have a good level of Literacy in order to complete assignments accurately. 3. You must be registered with an accredited centre to assess candidates. 4. You must have access to at least 2 candidates on the same programme. 6. You must have a designated counter signatory and an Internal Verifier, both registered at the same centre. 7. You must be I.T literate and have access to a computer with broadband connection, printer and scanner. |

Course program
The QCF NVQ Assessor Certificate is the new A1 Assessor Award. The A1 Assessor Award was phased out and replaced on the 31st December 2010.
The QCF NVQ Assessor Certificate has 3 different units, which can potentially form 4 seperate qualifications.
The qualification you need will depend on your job role.
The 4 qualifications are as follows:
Understanding the principles and practices of assessment - £350
This Level 3 Award is intended for those who wish to gain an understanding of the principles and practices of assessment without any requirement to practice as assessors. Suitable for department managers, supervisors, work based recorders, centre managers, apprenticeship staff or for aspiring Assessors looking to get their foot in the door of a centre to become an NVQ Assessor.
This is a knowledge based award, where you complete the award by Distance Learning through our Virtual Learning Environment. You will be fully supported by a Tutor throughout the duration of your course via email & telephone.
PLEASE NOTE: This award does NOT qualify you to assess candidates
Assessing competence in the work environment - £600
This award is for those who assess candidates in the work environment, using the assessment methods for learners' work activities, e.g observation of performance in the work environment, examining products of work, questioning the learner, discussing with the learner, use of others (witness testimony) looking at learner statements and recognising prior learning.
This award is delivered and assessed via online distance learning. You will be given full support and guidance throughout the programme via telephone, email and thorough assessment planning.
PLEASE NOTE: This award does NOT qualify you to assess candidates in a college based environment.
Assessing vocationally related achievement - £600
This award is for those who assess in classroom-based and workshop environments using assessment methods such as simulations, skills tests, oral and written questions, assignments, projects, case studies, recognising prior learning.
This award is via online distance learning. You will be given full support and guidance throughout the programme via telephone, email and thorough assessment planning.
PLEASE NOTE: This award does NOT qualify you to assess candidates in their workplace.
Assessing vocational achievement - £650
This certificate is for those who use assessment methods and need to be qualified in all aspects of assessment (this qualification is the most like A1).
This certificate is delivered via online distance learning. You will be given full support and guidance throughout the programme via telephone, email and thorough assessment planning.
