Course program
Award for Up-Skilling Door Supervisors (Scotland) are qualifications that have been developed to meet the mandatory SIA top up training requirement for Door Supervisors who undertook their training prior to 31 August 2010.
The qualifications meet the SIA’s mandatory top-up requirements and appropriately qualified learners who complete the qualification will be eligible to apply to renew their SIA Door Supervisors licence.
This course requires 1 day of attendance with a further 2 hours of distance learning.
The qualifications consist of two units:
Safety Awareness for Door Supervisors in Scotland - a knowledge unit covering counter terrorism issues, first aid situations and requirements regarding children and young people – 2 guided learning hours (This will be distance learning)
Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry/Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry in Scotland (knowledge and practical skills) – 10 guided learning hours (7.5 hours SIA mandatory minimum contact time)
This course is for Door Supervisors who wish to re-new their SIA Door Supervisor licence.
